Scuba Courses
The Search and Recovery Diver specialization is a technical course, meant to aid students who wish to be part of search and recovery efforts in open water.

Class Title: Search and Recovery Diver
Age Requirements: 12 years or older.
Average Class Size: Max of 8 students per instructor
Class Location/Venue: Scuba Monkey Dive Center for classroom session and confined water in our indoor pool. Open water sessions to be completed at designated freshwater springs or open ocean environments closeby depending on conditions.
Class Length: This course includes a classroom session, as well as four open water dives over the course of 2-3 days.
What will you learn?
The PADI Search and Recovery course will cover the planning, organization, and procedures of search and recovery diving. This will include the hazards of low visibility and underwater navigation. Patterns, lines, and reels will be utilized during the course. Lifting devices for heavy objects will be introduced and used as well.
What gear will you need?
You will need to provide your own set of SCUBA gear, which can be bought or rented through the Dive Center. Any additional rescue and recovery gear will be provided by the Dive Center for the duration of the course.

Sign up above! Reservations are only held when paid in full. Be advised that a $25 rescheduling fee will be applied if you wish to cancel or change your reservation within two weeks of your course begin date. Please feel free to contact us to schedule private courses that fit your schedule!
